Smarter ways to clean
What is "Our Home Our Planet?"
-
'Our Home Our Planet' is the next step in Reckitt Benckiser’s Carbon 20 program which aims to reduce the Total Carbon Footprint from cradle to grave of all Reckitt Benckiser’s products by 20 percent by 2020.
It is an education campaign for consumers that is designed to give simple and practical advice about small steps to cut energy, water use and save money whilst using our products - steps that collectively will make a real and positive impact on the environment Amongst other communication channels, water/energy saving and recycling tips are profiled on packaging of products such as Vanish, Finish, Harpic, Pine-O-Cleen and Airwick to provide practical, easy to follow advice that enables Australians to use the products in a more smarter way, but without sacrificing performance. OHOP is not a ‘quick fix’ – it is the first step of a committed, long term initiative, spearheaded by Reckitt Benckiser, to help consumers change their product usage and disposal habits. RB is committed to improving our products environmentally at every stage of the product cycle as well as working with stakeholders and consumers to bring about positive climate change.
Here in Australia, Reckitt Benckiser is working collaboratively with leading experts in the environment space to ensure that OHOP is relevant and effective in the local market

- With each of the brands we are continually working to minimise their environmental impact in sourcing, manufacturing packaging and distribution. You can click here to see how we are “doing our bit”. In addition to this, our manufacturing facilities have been made carbon neutral since 2006 through our Trees for Change program. We are planting more than 4 million trees which will absorb over 1 million tonnes of CO2 over the next 80-100 years. This is the equivalent of removing the carbon impact of 294,000 cars (based on average Australian light vehicle, traveling an average of 15,000 km/year).

- The World Land Trust’s mission is to work with local, in-country non-governmental conservation organisations to preserve the world's most biologically important and threatened lands.
- Since its founding in 1989 WLT has helped to purchase and protect over 375,000 acres of habitats rich in wildlife.
- The World Land Trust recognises the efforts and the commitments we are making to reduce our impact on climate change and protect the biodiversity of the planet.
